The Runaway

by Kenzi Cameryn

I guess you wouldn’t happen to know what its like to feel as if you don’t even matter, like no one could give a care whether you were alive or dead. That is exactly how Alexandra felt as she limped down the sidewalk in downtown New York. Before her parents divorce, and her mother’s death Alexandra had been very concerned about her appearance, but now that she was on the run, she had no time for something as trivial as her hair.
Alexandra was running from her step-father who was attempting to adopt her. But ahe was the only one who knew her step-fathers terrible secret. He had killed her mother for insurance money, and if he adopted her…well she shivered at the very thought.
But what is a 13 year old girl with a broken ankle, a dead mother and a father who lives a whole country away supposed to do?
Alexandra didn’t know, all she knew was she hadn’t had a meal in three days, she needed serious medical attention, and she had an eerie feeling that someone or something was watching her every move.

its interesting. i feel like you put too much just out there in straight words. try making things more vague, that way the reader as to infer them. it makes it more enjoyable to read instead of being handed dry facts.
