Tortilla was now 30 years old, and feeling quite alone. Her sister, Flauta, was now extremely successful, with three double platinum albums and a lovely relationship with Guacamole, a movie star. Tortilla, however, was still living with her parents, and felt like a complete failure. She had received a master’s in Spanish from Ethnic Foods University, but had trouble keeping a job.

Currently, she was working as waitress at Taco Bell, where she constantly felt out of place and taken advantage of. Her dream was to become a chef in Argentina, but she lacked the money to do so.

This all changed, though, one hot summer day. Tortilla was exhausted, having been working from early that morning, and covering her absent friend Burrito’s shift. Suddenly, in walked a tall, tanned figure.

This newcomer introduced himself as Churro. For Tortilla, it was love at first sight. He was so sweet…and yet, at times, so irresistibly zesty. Life was finally looking up.
