Nyra stared up at the starry night sky.

Looking over at her friend, Hiro, she showed some emotion. “I’ve never seen you smile,” Hiro said. Nyra quickly returned to her normal unemotional face. “I’ve seen that face one too many times.”

Nyra hid her smile the best she could. “Here’s something you’ve probably never seen me do either.” Nyra leaned in towards Hiro and her lips gently brushed his. She put her arms around his neck, and went deeper into the kiss. Hiro’s eyes remained open as they broke apart from each other, gasping for air. “No, I certainly haven’t.”

Nyra no longer tried to hide her smile.

    Well, this is my first ficlet, and I’m hoping it gets noticed. I really wanted to accomlish a romantic kiss scene, and if you could tell me how well it was done, that would be much appreciated.

    I think it was good in expressing kind of a hidden love in such a short amount of words. Very nice!

    Aww, I also love this story ;) I’ve never done a romance ficlet so when I read them it always makes me smile. You did a great job on the kiss.

    i like this…did you get the name nyra from guardians of ga’hoole by any chance? anyway, great first ficlet…if it’s anything to judge by, it’s fat better than my first ficlet. good job.
