I always thought comets would look much more significant, or crash into the earth and create a ten million ft hole or something. This was none of the above, this was just a lame streak in the sky. It wasn’t even wish worthy! Well i suppose you’re only supposed to wish upon shooting stars but still. I laughed quietly to myself as i saw Nancy from across the street fumble with the trash.Serves her right, always ignoring me in school when i say hi. We’ve been friends ever since we were children and yet my sad geekiness is too much for her to handle. She is really pretty though, being seen with someone like me would probably just ruin her beauty. Of course she’ll always be beautiful to me.
“Matt! get in here child, it’s almost eleven!”
“Yes ma’.” I sigh, sliding my glass door open to head inside. Not before glancing once more at the comet though. “Make her love me.” I whisper under my breath. I laugh, knowing that it was a stuid thing to do. No one makes wishes off of comets. But i guess i’m not anyone.
