Vengeance

by Autumn Night

I sat quietly, looking at myself. My body was twisted at a chilling angle, blood sitting beneath me. I knew it was only a matter of time before I was to leave here, but I fealt the void inside of my soul that needed to be filled. I knew I couldn’t go until I avenged my own death. But for now, I sat quietly.

I wondered who would find me here, if I would be in the papers, who would go to my funeral. A sadness filled my mind, knowing how much I would miss it all. As I glimpsed at my head, my blond hair looked sticky with blood. “Candice has the most beautiful eyes” my mother would say; now they just looked vacant.

I watched the police block off the door, and the investigators collect evidence. I wanted to scream to them and tell them it was Sean. But all I could do was stand as a ghost.

I was never one to hate in life. Who knew that only in death could I be so hurt? I will find Sean before I leave this world. With God on my side, I will not rest until his bloody past is revealed.

It tells so much, but I ask it more. Again, you’ve left many roads open to us.
