The Offering of the Cow People

The chanting filled the night air, swelling up and out, breaking through the clouds.

The explorer peered through the dense foliage, observing this strange scene. June the 15th, 1905, he logged in his journal. Day the fifth of surveying these strange people. As I lay in the scratchy mosquito-ridden outer brush of what looks like a ceremonial clearing, I see the mysterious tribe dancing around what looks to be some sort of a burning offering. . .No! Methinks it could be a sacrificial effigy of a. . .a cow! Will these people sink to lower depths?

All of a sudden, as the embers rose past the blazing cow, every eye of the strange people turned towards the brush.

“NUG NUUUUUUG !” a tribesman cried, pointing straight at where the explorer was.

Each man, woman, and child hoisted up a giant spear, yelling bloodcurling war-cries and charging towards the brush.

They’ve discovered me! I fear that I may not be able to leave this strange place, unless I think fast. Their faces are covered-.
