My Life as a Teenage Pool Vacuum Cleaner

The water trembled as I drew ever nearer to the speck in the distance. The cement rolled off me, smoothly and silently helping my approach.

Bam!

I shot out, quick as lightning, at the speck. Hmm. Interesting flavor. Too much chlorine aftertaste, though. I sighed, emitting a cloud of bubbles out of a pipe in my back. Everthing tasted like chlorine in here. I mean, it was a pool.

I gazed longingly up at the sun shimmering through the water. If only I could be free, free to do what I will and roam where I wish! Here, I only had four cement walls and the deep end.

Suddenly, a giant object came hurtling through the water, sending a column of bubbles everywhere. Couldn’t the Humans be a little quieter for once? At least the older lady only stepped in. No, her little terror had to crash in.

Another object bounced in next to the first. The kid had brought his slightly tubbier friend.

Well, he had done it before. I resumed sucking chlorine, like a bottomfeeder.
