Waiting

by Lone Writer

She sat on the fence, waiting. What she was waiting for, she didn’t know. All that she did know was, that if she waited long enough something would happen.
She sat there for quite a while, staring at the setting sun, thinking about nothing, doing nothing, just waiting.
Then as the last rays of the sun disappeared beneath the horizon, she decided. She was tired of waiting for something to happen.
She was going to make it happen herself.
And with that final thought, she hopped off the fence and went off down the dirt path.

I think that that was awesome :) I really liked how simple you left it. Not lacking, but simple. Thanks for sharing!

I like that she decided to make things happen rather than wait for them, but I wish you had elongated the piece – let us know who she was, and why she was there.

What’s down that path is left to our imagination, and as ficlet writers’ That could be anywhere from OZ to the moon. Beautiful story.
