I Think We Found It

by Laine the Grey

They used to call it a “Million-Dollar hotel” back when it was popular. They said the only way to get a room was if you paid a million-dollars to reserve it.

Anyway, this family was terribly interested in it. Maybe more so than natural. Because it had taken Andrew so long to even get a serious buyer to look at it, he hadn’t said anything. In fact, it hadn’t even crossed his mind.

“This is the ‘Hotel Savoy”, you’re sure?” The father had asked.
“Absolutely.” Andrew rocked onto his back heels, and stuck his hands in his pockets. “If you’ll just look at the molding around the fireplace!”
“All the orignal ceilings? Rooms? Floors?” Asked the blind grandfather.
“Of course.” Andrew worried that his smile would wear out.
“I think we found it, Pop. Finally, we’ll be free.” The man whispered to his father.
