Scribe of Consequences

by Secret77

To a casual observer, the markings on the shower tiles would appear as nothing more than a random alphabet soup conceived of a deranged mind.

Certainly to look at the man one would get the impression that he was less than stable.

However, the perception of the man and the reality of the man are at opposite ends of the spectrum.

The markings on the wall could open unseen doors to unfathomable places. There were truths revealed in the markings that would alter the beliefs and faiths of the world.

He long ago gave up the hope of living a normal life, sequestered to interior rooms away from windows and spy camera’s. He knew there were those who sought the information to use for their own gain and he knew he had to keep it from them, yet he could not control the compulsion to scribe the markings, even if only to erase them moments later.

The man sat back and stared at the tiles and what he had just written, the gravity of its meaning slowly sinking in. Nothing would be the same, even for him.

Wow, great descriptions and word choice (yech, hate to use a school-ish “vocab” word), but really, great job! The series reminds me of “A Beautiful Mind”, the movie with Russel Crowe.

omygosh, it totally does! i would like to see a sequel about why he’s locked in a house with spy cameras and what he did with the math that meant “nothing would be the same”. i would write it, but I would probably kill it…painfully and violently, most likely.
