The Wonderful Life of a Platypus-loving, Kumquat-eating High-schooler

I am weird. It’s a truth I’ve come to accept, even to love. When everyone on Earth is wearing plaid, you can bet that I’ll be sporting polka dots.

I am a daydreamer. Others have their “heads in the clouds”. Well, mine is on an assymetrical starship somewhere in the Andromeda Galaxy, shooting the breeze with aliens called Creativity and Happiness. Honestly, they are the most
human beings I’ve ever had the pleasure of associating with.

The school bell rings, and I open my locker. Out falls a picture of a platypus. I gawk at the creature, for on the glossy magazine page, my name is written in red ink! Behind me stand my classmates, snickering at my face. I grin down at the beautiful creature and place it lovingly amongst the pictures of faeries in my locker. Apparently, my classmates did not know that the platypus is my favorite animal.

I skip off toward my first hour classroom, when a thought jumps into my head. I could go for a kumquat right about now! I sing my beautiful kumquat song!
