Ramming/riverboat/torpedo/Germans = The African Queen
Bamf = Nightcrawler onomatopoeia from X-men comic books (penalty point for being juvenile)
Pawnbroker = murder victim in Crime and Punishment (bonus point for Russian reference?)
“Oh better far to live…” = opening lines of ‘Pirate King’ from ‘The Pirates of Penzance’
Where the Wild Things Are by Maurice Sendak

I didn’t get most of the allusions, but I did like the Crime and Punishment and Where the Wild Things Are references. Makes me wonder where they’re headed.
