Dr. Fon Regger leafed through his beaten books. There was one on the Aztec calendar, one on Aztec mythology and customs, and he had somehow managed to find a book that mentioned the Aztec god’s name once, but it was only in a short sentence. He sighed, put his book down, and stared at the fireplace.
With a jolt, he remembered one leaflet of information he had gathered. Tlahuizcalpantecuhtli was related in some small form to the god Xiuhtecuhtli, the Aztec god of fire and “the Mother and Father of the Gods.” It seemed as though Dr. Regger was seeing relationships everywhere.
Was this really just an obsession? Only a hunch? Dr. Regger frowned. It couldn’t be. He had devoted his entire life to researching just this sort of thing; he wouldn’t stop now.
He groaned and hoisted himself up from the chair and gathered his books. He could rejoin the tales of Aztec gods in the morning. It was time to get to his hotel room; he had a big day ahead of him the next day. He would start the hunt.
