By the time Jorden went into first grade, she was able to write her name, and was reading chapter books.
She might’ve even been the smartest kid in her class, but no one ever noticed because her teacher was too busy helping the other kids.
Her teacher was just out of college. She was disorganized. She was not ready to be a first grade teacher. She didn’t have time to notice, or help all the kids in her class, especially Jorden Mackenzie.
If she had been noticed, she could’ve easily skipped a grade. But, she wasn’t.

On Jordan’s second actual report card, her teacher commented that “She doesn’t stand out”.

That comment changed Jorden’s life.

    but how did they change her life? 2 life changing events but neither seem to be changing it much

    i’m liking how you describe the horrors of public education. hopefully these life changing comments somehow develop into a nice story twist.

    i agree with blueyedwonder – i saw a pattern.
    you could do sequels of these all the way through 12th grade. it wuld be quite an interesting series =]
