I felt bad running off from Ashley, but I forgot as soon as I found my moms car in the driveway. I ran through the front door. I found my mom in the living room.
“Hey, Mom.” I said.
“Oh, hi tom!” She said, getting up and catching me in a quick embrace.
“It took you long enough to get back from that court battle with dad.”
She looked sullen at what I said but she responded anyway.
“Actually, it went pretty well, we are divorced and each of us got a fair share of everything.” She said and smiled.
“I sort of miss him.”
“He’s moved to pittsburg now.”
“Thats not too far away, a quick drive from new york.”
“If you ever want to visit him, just tell me ok?”
“Sure.”
At that I walked up to my room. I lied down on my bed for a little bit, and thne I heard a ring on my cell phone. I picked it up, it was Ashley.
“Tom,” She started to say. “We need to talk at school tomorrow.” She hung up. I knew there was something wrong and tomorrow was too long to wait. I ran out the door, straight towards Ashley’s place.
