Be fruitful and multiply

by Algai 'd' Aman

The council had convened. Stars stretched around them erratically speeding up and slowing down at random (mostly due to some malfunction in my time machine) Local space time was constant though.

Adjusting my frequency I was able to hear? No it was more like a telepathic reception hmmm. Note that for later study.

“Is there any way to increase productivity in the delta quadrant?” Asked the prime elder. “No sir, we are at full capacity. The beasts are content and have reached a plateau.”

“We have tried natural disasters, but you remember the problem we ran into four eons now past with the meteor.” “Yes yes. Let’s not do that again, at least not at that magnitude.”

“I got it!” the quadrant supervisor said excitedly. “Let’s increase their receptive and cognitive skills, and send them a prophet!” There was silence.

“Agreed. We’ll elevate the bipeds, and give them ten mandates. I nominate Mose. Start them off on a slow ritualistic routine, then when they are ready, see if we can initiate the harvest.”

Very interesting idea. I’ve got nothing to follow it up with right now, but would love to see someone write a sequel or prequel to this.
