Life Is Great

Let’s just say it’s a good thing I was born in Australia, eh, mate?

All sorts of weird things are ‘ere: all the marsupial blokes: the kangaroo, the wallaby, the koala…there’s all those funny lizards that like to ‘ead-on with cars. Pretty much nothin’ is perfectly normal ‘down under,’ including me. I’m a monotreme, one of only five bloody species on the ‘ole planet. And, sadly, the only one in Australia.I live in the sun down under, though I’ll admit, i do live in the water. All the fish think I’m a bit odd…actually, now that I come to think of it, most everyone thinks I’m odd. Even my fellow mammals! And my good old fellow ducks…or should we say deserters. Did you know, they’re even refusing the be put in the same genus as me! Now, I’m all alone. But that’s alright with me, really, mates. I really do like it here…swimmin’ with my little webbed feet, eatin’ those not-nice fish with my beak, stayin’ warm with my fur…

Life is great as a platypus.

reading it to myself, in an austrailan accent, i laughed. very good job with that. theres stovo’s platypus again..

Everything is twice as funny with an Australian accent; it’s a fact. And did you know that the platypus is the only truly venomous mammal? Pretty neat, eh…um, mate?

Did stovohobo invent the platypus? Cute story, nice work with the accent but it seemed to fall off towards the end.
