I can do two things. 1: Put my hands up and pray that their computer is messed up. 2: Run.

I glanced at their gun, which at the time was pointed at Shade as they helped him into the ambulance.

I put my hands in the air as they did a gun check on me. Once they found me clean – I had chucked my gun after we left the hospital – they shoved me into the police car. I noticed that the officer that had hit Shade had been out of sight for a while.

“Where did the officer that hi-” I stopped. Maybe they didn’t know Shade’s name yet. ”..that hit Paigero go?”
