Yes, they did. I just didn’t want to deal with the scientific aspect, so I left it up to the reader’s imagination.

I haven’t read the prequel, but I think I know everything I need to know about these characters and their situation from this story, which I loved.

Minor constructive criticism: I’d lose the a) and b) and just reveal the two things.

Unless a) and b) is a device you’re using in a series on purpose, in which case I’ll be quiet now.
