A Flock Of Geeks

Lorencz threw the door wide. “Y-yes, m-master? Is Gwen here?”

Reinhardt stopped banging his head against the frame and rested his weight on his forehead. He opened a wild eye to stare at Lorencz; decades of service to the family and it was like he hardly knew the little hunchback.

“Excuse me,” he said. “Gwen?”

“My friend from the con,” Lorencz replied as if Reinhardt had lost his mind. “The ninja kitten? I IM ’d her to ask if she wanted to try my conversion of the G-series to 3.5, and she’s bringing four or five people over.”

Reinhardt merely stared. Every time his brain tried to process the idea that his hunchback had friends who apparently were nerds his brain sent back an error message as if it had tried to divide by zero.

The Abomination slurped to the door and Reinhardt thought the interruption was a mercy until it handed a piece of paper to Lorencz and the hunchback shouted, “Th-that’s a plus-five le-level adjustm-m-ment, you ch-cheat!”

Reinhardt used the opportunity to slink away in defeat.
