Childhood
What happened…
To the times when crying was so simple? When tears could be fixed with something so simple as a kiss, a hug?
To times when your worst problem was a scrape on your knee, or not having the biggest cookie, or having to go to bed before you were tired?
To days when everything was just about having fun, when you were amazed at every little thing you saw?
To times when the hardest decisions you had to make were “what do I wear today?” Or, “what do I eat for lunch?”
To mornings when you biggest frustration was not being able to tie your shoes?
To schooldays when friends weren’t complicated—when everyone on the playground was your best friend?
To the past, when you were colorblind; when skin and hair didn’t matter? When you liked all the colors just the same?
To times when someone was always there to hold your hand, when someone was always by your side to help you, to hold you, to share your simple joys, sorrows, and frustrations?
What happened…
To childhood? Where did it go so fast?
