A Song of Understanding
It’s one of those corny, sappy poetic moments/You have never felt so wrapped in your own existence/So contained in your own mind and yet dying to share this terrible, consuming ache/
Will anyone listen?
Maybe the trees, in all their glory/The way the gentle sunshine rims each yellowing leaf/The way that they stand tall and proud, their branches like arms hugging the wind and each fleeting moment/Maybe the flowers will listen/With their vibrant hues and delicate petals/
More than anything, you want someone to listen/Listen with all of their heart/All you want is for one friend to understand/To feel the pain you’re going through/A pain so strong, you hate anyone who isn’t feeling it, who has escaped the horror and the shock/
I understand, my darling/this ache, this shock/You don’t realize, you could never realize, that our hearts beat together, my dearest friend/When yours weeps, when it shatters like china into a million pieces, I feel it too/
I will always be here for you.
