The drive to the hospital was frightening. Jason was driving like a maniac. There weren’t many things she was afraid of but she was afraid of dying.

“Jason, maybe you should pull over”, Mindy said.

She could see the tears welling up in his eyes, but he fought the urge to cry.

“You really love her dont you”, she asked.

“Of course I love her”, he said, keeping his eyes on the road.

He pulled into the hospital parking lot, looking for an available spot.

“Would you ever cheat on her”, she asked.

Jason turned in the the first parking space he saw, shut of the ignition and looked at her.

“What kind of question is that? My girlfriends in the hospital and you ask me something like that?

“Sorry I asked”, she said.

He took the keys out of the ignition and turned to open the door. He stopped when he felt a touch on his shoulder.

“What now?”, he asked without turning to look at her.

“I think it would be best if I waited in the car”.

He got out of the car and slammed the door.
