The Story Of Three (part 8)

On the way through camp Katara managed to grab the first-aid kit and Therrin chose to swerve towards her pack full of food. The three ran and ran and ran. Keeping together they swerved into the forest in hopes that the trees would slow down their pursuer. The bear was slowed. They weren’t. Therrin quickly led them to a straight and narrow path through the forest that was too small for the bear. It wasn’t too long before the forest became denser and the bear was forced to stop. After running another ten or fifteen minutes they stopped and, knowing that they had left the bear far, far behind, set up camp for the night. As the sun started to set and Therrin began to cook a quick supper Katara started tending to everyone’s various wounds. She started with the most serious ones (Sokka’s twisted ankle and the large cut in Therrin’s side) then worked her way down.
“So,â€? Katara said when the last of the wounds had been tended to. “Would you please be so kind as to explain why that bear was chasing you?â€?
