The Book of Mona 7

Pay answered on the 3rd ring. “Hello?”
“Hey, its Mona. And dont start talking yet, let me say what I need to say and then you can have your piece”. Mona waited 3 seconds, heard her sister sigh on the other end of the phone and then she said, “I’ve decided to take you up on your double date offer, but not because I’m lonely or I’m looking for a man, cuz I’m not. I’m just in one of those moods where I’m too far inside my head, thinking too much, and I need to get out of the house and mingle with something other than scruff ball.” Mona took a deep breath, then exhaled. Waited on Pay to say something. She could hear her tapping those long manicured nails on the table. “You can talk now!”, Mona said annoyingly. “Finally, I thought you’d never shut up”, Pay said. “I’m glad you changed your mind. You wont regret it, I promise. His friend is fine! Not as hot as my guy but gurl you will be pleased! Certainly better than that no neck husband of yours”. “Ex husband!”, Mona corrected her.
