TheSunshine Let In
“I’m just apologizing ahead of time” he said, reaching up and pressing the button, closing the sunroof. Then it was back to reality. We couldn’t live forever in this moment, in this car, with no problems. We took a ride to nowhere, leaving our problems in reality. Confessing our secrets to the stars, we faced the fact that we had to go back sometime. With a tear streaked face, I watched the road, not ready to welcome back the problems. It was the moment we came back that emptiness filled me. I didn’t hate her, but out of all the memories I had, most were bad. It was the moments she let the sun in and smiled, that are the strongest though. And when I came home from that car ride to nowhere, she silently knocked on my door and gave me some money. “I’ve been saving a little here and there for you so you can have a nice dress for even one night. Lets keep it between us” my face contradicted itself with a smile and a tear. She had let the sun in for only one moment, but this was the brightest she had ever shown.
