Frankie, Chapter 4, Part 1
Chapter 4
“Are you going to tryout for the local musical? I heard it’s going to be Aladdin,â? I was asking my best friend, Rose Sherman.
I was so excited for tonight. If you couldn’t tell, it was Thursday afternoon.
I didn’t tell Rose about Nick. I only told her I was meeting a co-worker. I kind of felt bad about it, but I have best friends with Rose since kindergarten. I know what she’ll do to me. She’ll taunt me about meeting with a guy instead of a girl. We like to make fun of things like that with each other. We only do it with each other, though, and only for fun because we know we’re both joking around.
I was doing anything to try to keep off the subject. I would have faked throwing up to keep off of it. She is deathly afraid. That was how willing I was.
“I’m not sure. If I do it, it’ll be the last of the musicals I’ll being doing until after college.â?
“Come on. You are an amazing singer, you can dance, you are the best actress I know – well, besides me of course.” She laughed.
