Frankie, Chapter 5, Part 4
In the spur-of-the-moment, I ran into the bathroom. I stopped at the mirror and checked my hair. It looked good enough for now.As I was going back, I made sure he heard me and knew I was coming as a fare warning. I heard his phone close.
I sat down and we started talking and laughing yet again. At 10 o’clock, he stopped laughing and looked at his watch.
“Is everything alright?â? I couldn’t help myself from asking.
“As much as I don’t want this night to end, I should be getting you home. The last thing you need is to be yelled at by your mom after being here with me of all people,â? he said as he reached in his pocket for his keys.
I chuckled. I was really going to like working with Nick.
Great. Another rush was coming into my body. However, it was not in my head, but through my mouth.
“Hey Nick? I was wondering if you would like to do this again some time.â?
He didn’t answer because he was already in his car and driving away.
