Shadows in the Night, VI

Tobias came to a stop at the edge of the well, his eyes widening in horror as he gazed into the bottomless hole. Shadowy hands emerged from the well and reached for Tobias, who stood frozen in horror, unable to move out of the way.

Someone suddenly reached out from behind and grabbed Tobias, pulling him away from the well and out of the shadow’s reach. “You must leave here,â€? the young woman who had grabbed him said, spinning him around so he was facing her. “You must leave, and must never come back.â€? Her curly, honey-blonde hair blew in the wind and her hazel eyes stared at him frantically.

Tobias nodded and she released him. He stumbled towards the entrance of the castle, but froze when a voice suddenly called out “Stop!â€? A young man appeared out of nowhere, taking a step towards Tobias and stretching out a hand. “You may not leave.â€? His brown eyes looked sad, and his spiky blonde hair was sticking straight up, almost as if he had just rolled out of bed.

Tobias froze – who were these people?
