A helicopter arrives

John put his arm around the girls waist, she leaned against him, appreciating the warmth. He didn’t even know her name, but here he was. On a field in the middle of nowhere. Waiting for strangers. Was she dangerous? She looked up to him, her eyes murky pools that caught John, seduced him, drowned him. No, it was the right thing to do. He had picked her up on the street, her car crashed. She had looked so fragile… but was full of determination. Her car meant nothing to her, she just needed to come here. Now. It was important. John had believed her every word. All his questions answered by her eyes.

The sound of a helicopter approaching. Flap flap flap. John jumped. It was loud and windy. The girls long blond hair flowed around her face and over his shoulders. She stepped forward, shielding her eyes against the wind.
