BTW , Simon’s quotation is an edited version of the actual KJV text, so any “errors” (the verb tense in “behold a pale horse” keeps bugging me) are from the original text.
It’s not really an error in the KJV – it’s a different kind of grammar, from a different era. But it looks really wrong in contemporary use, and I didn’t want anyone to see it and think it was an error (hence the quotes around “errors” in my last comment). Thank you, everyone – I’m enjoying this considerably.
Simon’s not as dumb as he looks. :-) There were two different, overly-long draft versions. One was a throwaway joke about Sunday School, the other was a snarky comment about required reading for an aspiring wizard. The truth is that Simon’s quote probably should have been in the original Greek. But that would have been well beyond the capacities of yours truly, who merely went to BibleGateway.com.
