Thanks, Kermitgorf. I was a little lost at first what to do with Howie’s twist and turn, but… well… I figured something out. And no, the tattoo thing isn’t just a convenient out. Blake actually needs something that happened previously in the tale to make his plan work (yes, I actually re-read the whole damn ficlet to find something to use that worked in my head).
Now I’m all curious as to what you have in mind! (You’re not the only one who was flipping through earlier ficlets in the series looking for seeds, by the way. We keep this up, I may have to print the whole series and annotate it. Frak! as Simon might say.)
Yeah, there’s some great stuff early on that might still come back. It’s gotten so long now that it’s a bit tough to track, but…thus is the nature of the beast.
My personal website should be up soon and I’ll include links to the entire series (episode by episode) on it. That should make it easier.
As for what I have in mind, you’ll have to have patience. I’m refusing to finish this until I find out what’s happening to some of the others. Yup, I’m down with blackmail.
Wow, Blake came off as angelic at some point? Maybe I didn’t read carefully enough… :)
Blake brought some massive experience to the table here. Read the early installments of this ficlet; he’s got a tat the makes him impervious to “normal” magics (and yes, I fully concede there is no way this would prevent archangels, gods, forces of nature, etc from affecting him).
Read the early installments of this ficlet Um, I did. If you don’t believe me, you can look for my blue-winged fairy. She’s on each page at least once. I even commented on the tingling tat. It’s just, he always seemed a bit altruistic – even leaving Simone to talk to a jittery strange boy (which turned out to be the best thing for both men, but still). With this ficlet, though, and the fact that he got some of Lucifer’s blood (the hard way), it hints that he might be a little bit evil too.
