Jackie's Sidewalk
The sidewalk was covered with drawings of everything you can think of. Most had words, saying “Get well soon” or “Hope you feel better”. This whole sidewalk was for Jaquelyn, whos nickname was Jackie. She was sick, very very sick. Her illness was leaukemia. This sidewalk was right in front of her house, covered with pictures, but mostly memories, from all of the townspeople who have known her since birth, her friends, her teachers, everyone. Since that day that the sidewalk was covered with memories, it never rained. The sun was always shining, the sidewalk glowing in the daze. But one day, October 21st, she became very ill, with a high fever, and the docters this time didnt think she could make it. “I’m sorry.” is all they had to say. That October day, the whole town was weeping in sorrow for that poor little girl of only 8 years. The next morning, there were clouds, big, heavy gray clouds in the sky. All of the children sat on the sidewalk. It was pouring rain. They just stood there… Jackie passed on.
