Color My World
In some ways, a crayon box is like a bunch of kids…
Red is the kid who’s angry, the one who doesn’t care much.
Orange is the kid with wishes, the one who doesn’t know what’s next.
Yellow is the kid who’s happy, the one who knows they’ve got it good.
Green is the sad one, the one who sheds tears in the silence of the night.
Blue is the quiet one, the child who says never a word, yet says it all.
Purple is the child who knows death is near. Purple is the child with courage.
The broken one knows if she finds some tape, she can fix it.
The dull one knows he’s great for coloring in large spaces.
The whole, sharp one knows she won’t be that way forever.
The one with the torn wrapper knows that what’s inside is more important.
Crayons are like children…so different, yet together they can make something beautiful. So, ask the next child you see, “Will you color my world?” You’ll be amazed at the difference that follows.
