Owen For President {someday_93's Name challenge}

Owen Eoghan was born into wealth. His family was ‘old ’ money from Irish immigrants who arrived on American shores richer than Midas.

His clan consisted of priests, police, politicians, property owners and rumors of a prince or two in England that the family never spoke of.

Owen didn’t want to be rich, he wanted to feed and clothe the homeless, build houses with Jimmy Carter, clean up oil spills, teach English to Chinese children.

But his parents had other ideas for Owen. They thought of him as a modern day JFK . They wanted him to be President of the United States someday.

“Mom, Dad, I don’t want to be president,” Owen said hesitantly to his folks.

“Nonsense son, you don’t know what you want, you’re only 10 years old,” his stern father said.

“But Fr. O’Malley says that ‘tis better to give then to receive’,” Owen responded.

“I’ll remember that on Sunday when the collection basket arrives, see how much he would rather give, then receive,” his mother laughed haughtily.

[Owen means Well born, well bred]
