One year after

It’s been a year, since the time she tried to… well, you know. I felt bad leaving Ashley, but I had no choice. Without thinking, I picked up my cell phone and called her. I’ve called her five times over the summer, no answer.
“Hello?” I heard a soft, beautiful female voice through my phone.
Ashley!
I almost jumped out of my vacation house’s living room in excitement.
“Ashley?” I said, my voice trembling a little.
“Hey”
“Hi”
“Why’d you call me?”
“Missed you.”
“Oh… Sorry I haven’t been answering your calls.”
“Not a big deal.”
“Tom, I miss you too.”
“Yeah, I just wish I could be th-”
Right then an idea struck me. I still haven’t gotten been used to being able to drive now.
“Ashley.” I said.
“Yeah?”
“I’m driving back home to you.”
“Why, Tom? You are in Florida, I am in our neighborhood in New York. You’re a long way away!”
“You’re worth it.”
“You don’t have to-”
“See you in a couple of days.”
I hung up, I was going now.
