Halloween Spooks
I turned around to face the girl, and now she too looked scared. I was deciding whether to run away screaming, or to go into this creepy haunted house.
Humiliation.
Or Possible Death.
..I walked inside.
Every turn, every hall, every step I took I hesitated. Something was going to pop out at me and scare me, I knew it.
“Mwahaha..” somebody whispered, loud enough for me to hear it only faintly.
“W-Who’s there?” I asked, stammering and now shivering.
I turned the corner – it was even darker than before. If there was any color darker than pitch black, this would be it.
Finally, I saw light. At the end of the hallway. Adrenaline suddenly bursting through my veins, I sprint to my possible escape.
“Now that you’ve had your trick, here’s your treat!” This dear old woman exclamed, handing me a candy apple. The kitchen was even more dolled up then my kitchen – that was pretty hard to do.
It just goes to show – anything, and everything, happens on Halloween night.
