Run, Boy, Run!
As 13-year-old Floyd Cunningham raced across the frozen Kansas land, his little 8-year-old brother, Glenn, trailing behind, panted to catch up. As Floyd approached the fence that hindered him from continuing on, he thrust his arms forward at the fence and pushed. This sent him leaping over the fence. Following this action, Glenn tried to replicate what his big brother, Floyd, did. However, since Glenn is small, he could not hop the fence without a problem. When he tried to hop it, he fell in the process. Glenn noticed that Floyd was laughing. When Floyd noticed the hurt face of his little brother, he stopped laughing, went over to the fence, and helped him over.
Since it was winter, and the year of 1918, people had to light fires. That is what these boys had to do in a schoolhouse to keep the teacher and students warm during the school day.
