Science of Friendship
It’s funny how, when you’re younger and, you seem to have so many friends and then, after a while, the crowd of friends seems to thin, and you’re left with only a few standing by your side. Those who’ve been loyal to you, through everything. Then, a while after that, you seem to notice that, even those friends who were always there for you, always picked you first, sort of drift towards each other, and watch you, like you’re some sort of rare animal on exihbit.
Your species? Friendless. Genus? Betrayed. Class? Hurt. Phylum? Bitter. Kingdom? Human.
In the end, you’re always left on your own, and even those who you thought would always be there for you, left, to find other friends, to ban against you, because, you don’t belong. Even in a crowd of outcasts, you trump them all because, in the end, you never seem to belong. You always seem to be removed from them. Like you’re not good enough.
It is, the human condition to be lonley. I guess I’m more human than I realized.
