Ficlets

company

A half- drunk follower openned up the passenger car door just as I was about to speed on over to the Unaffordable Hotel.
“Hey buddy, ” I murmered, slightly frustrated, “hop in, I’m in a hurry.”
”’m cap’n jack sp’rrow er ‘arribean,” he mumbled.
It was good to have some company along for tonight’s hectic adventure. Plus, Jack had a great personality.. drunk and sober. Honestly, I didn’t even think of Tom’s reaction to what I was wearing, how I had changed, who I was with. Nada. I honestly wasn’t even thinking about him anymore. I knew where I was going, and I knew that Jack was quickly becoming my necessity.
He was stumbling over the Green Day song on the radio while telling me about the latest Jerry Springer show. I laughed, and then sighed as I slowed to a stop outside the hotel’s main doors. A young woman with Texas hair and a professional suit was dragging a very angry Tom out the sliding doors.
“Howdy!” Jack hollered.
