She tried to pay attention to where they were walking, but if she let her mind wander off of the buzzing she feared it would slip out of her mind and sink into the ground, lost forever.
On any other day she would have been more than happy to let this strange and annoying buzzing be forgotten; but today it seemed to be important. Seemed to be saying something. ‘Stop’. What a weird thing for her head to say. ‘Stop!’. She slowly realized it wasn’t the buzzing. It was the boy she had chosen to follow. “I said stop! Quickly!â?. Startled by the command, she looked up and blinked. Oof! She was on the ground.She had dirt on her face – in her eyes. She tried to clear her eyes of the grit. No good. She felt a severe stinging pain under her eyelids as she heard an animal growl somewhere to her left. Startled, she tried to open her eyes. Pain shot from her eyes back into her skull.
