My Grandmother, My Hero {Hero Challenge}
My hero’-ine’, is my grandmother. In the face of many trials, she pulled through with unwavering faith and courage. She encouraged us to be better people through faith in God and strength in knowing that the bad times were only blemishes between the joys of life.
I don’t think I realized she was my hero until after her death, through reading her journals. She wrote about everything from her boredoms to momentous events and how she dealt with them.
Her message to those of us that were left was to believe in Him and that He can see us through all things.
She should know. She pressed on through divorce, letdowns, physical pains, diabetes, and heart disease. She stayed strong through her faith.
She loved us whether we were there constantly or not. We were never far from her thoughts; nor she from ours. Keeping family together was of utmost importance.
Her love and faithfulness is inspiring still. There are days when I would think to give in to negativeness. But because of her, I won’t.
