Always loved you
After I cried untill I couldn’t cry anymore, I looked up into his eyes again, “Thanks Andy,” I sniffled.
His smile looked strained, “I hate to dump this on you tonight Juni,” I smiled briefly at the old nickname, “But, I don’t want to postpone telling you any longer.”
“What is it?” I asked, as he walked to the edge of the tree and stood facing out away from me. He kicked the grass angrily and turned back to me, “I’m moving.” He said shortly. “New frickin Jersey.” He kicked the grass again.
“You what?” I felt horror rising inside of me, I was going to lose him again? “I.. I don’t.. why?” I asked, a feeling of hysteria rising in me.
“Dad got promoted, and we’re moving, dammit.”
I swallowed painfully, “I’ll miss you, so much, Andy, I can’t…”
He suddenly pulled me towards him, and whispered in my ear, “Juni, you know I’ve always loved you.”
He kissed me on the forehead and ran away, leaving me with my confused emotions underneath the oak tree. I went back inside to find kitty, and a safe ride home.
