I chuckled, still keeping my baby voice, “Today? Or since the beginning?”
“Please,” he whispered.
“Alright,” I exhaled, ” today.. I introduce my best friend and you cuss him and me out and beat his innocent ass. I agreed to meet you, I answered your calls today. I know I havn’t been that generous lately, but I was trying to forget you, and you weren’t helping at all. So, I thought, maybe if I just get it over with. So I came. And you and your temper. Geez.” I paused, catching my breath, and though I only heard silence- other than Jack’s loud restless snores in the passenger seat beside me -I knew Tom was still listenning.
“Some days you are the best, and others.. you’re the worst. You leave me, and I leave you -I know, and I’m sorry. But do you honestly think I’d leave just because? I leave because you make it completely unbareble to stand by you, when you jerk me around like that.. I’m forgetting alot…” I trailed.
“Ashley?”
