Panic and Fear
She calls in the dead of night
And falls to the floor without sight
Across the room a cat grooms
There is stillness without room
A stone falls without a call
It splashes in water
Ripples and waves
Its echo spreads but does not linger
To hear a sound without a singer
Sheds light on a twisted finger
Her hand spreads across the floor
And creeps closer to the door
She looks down the hall, around the corner
Fear of the dark, around the corner
Her breath turns cold, she suddenly feels bold
A step out the door, and the loneliness of fear
Her naked feet run to the corner
The Man of Fear waits around that corner
Falls she does . . . The Thump
And forms a growing bump
Lying under the man, not bold anymore – Just hot . . . burning hot
Panic – Fear spread like wind under her skin
They echo and break
Like waves against a wake
Ripples and Waves
They fill the empty caves
