My Time to Shine

“Ready to rock?” he asked me. It was more a hypothetical question than an objective one, but I answered anyways.
“Yeah. I am Mr. Wright.” Mr. Wright was my manager. He was awesome.
“You know, this being your first concert, no one expects you to be perfect, Sam,” he said softly.
“I know, but I need to be. For dad.” I said. I was instantly pumped at the thought of my father. I had to do well for him!
“Well, I think they’re ready for you, Ms. Banks. Are you ready?” asked Jerry, he was the stage hand. He also just happened to be my older cousin.
“Yeah, Jerry. I’m ready!” I answered as enthusiastically as I manage.
“Then follow me!” He led me to a small passageway that obviously led out to the stage.
“Good luck Sammy,” he said starting to put his arms around me.
“Thanks Jerry,” I said as I returned his hug.
As soon as the hug was broken and the crowd was calling, I walked out onto the stage.
I reached the center of the stage and stared out into the huge crowd, “Are you all ready to rock!?!”
