Why must I put so much pressure on myself to impress them. They are never satisfied. I try to get all my work done. I stay up late studying. I am undergoing sleep deprivation. The only things that keep me going is my boyfriend, my friends, and my extracurricular activities. But my emotions won’t let me endure the constant rejection and disappointment that I receive from them. They don’t understand what it’s like to be in my shoes. They never have and they never will. I am trying to be on my grown woman status but their constant nagging is hindering me from doing so. It’s time for them to let go and let me live.
