Easter
It was Easter Day. The day of the resurrection of Christ. The day when little children hunt for Easter eggs and chase after a cute, little fuzzy bunny. It’s a day where you get to feel blessed and happy.
But for most children the reality comes at about age nine or ten. At this precious age most youngsters realize that Santa doesn’t really drop down the chimney and leave gifts, that The Easter bunny is about as real as the tooth fairy, and that every little child thing is false.
But not Lily. First thing in the morning she dressed in her pretty new Easter outfit and the cute little bunny ears her mom picked out especially for her to wear. Lily though twelve years old is ready for the fancy dinner, the egg hunt, and the festivity. This Easter is special for Lily, despite her age.
This Easter is special because it is Lily’s first Easter. Her first Easter in America, her first Easter as an American citizen.
