I gazed out upon the beautiful sight of the park. It was an amazing night, and I was with an amazing guy..
..but I couldn’t let him know that.
“It’s really.. nice. I love y- it.” I stumbled my words.
He smiled nervously. I don’t know if he knew I was mistakingly about to tell him I loved him. I really hope he doesn’t know, dear God, please don’t let him know..
Just then, something pelted me.. something hard, icy, cold.. and I pelted one right back.
Thus beginning our snowball war.
He seemed to enjoy it, the tension lifting steadily from his shoulders.
“Like, oh em gee, is that Mel I see?” somebody mocked me from afar.
Hayden and I looked at each other, both of us confused – we couldn’t tell who it was through the glare of the lights. He ran over to me, abandoning his snowball fort, and put his arm around me.
“Who’s there?” Hayden yelled into the night.
