Petals on the Sidewalk - Teen Angst Poetry
Between the cracks,
Where no others dare to go,
Grows a lonesome flower
Swimming against the flow
Sitting there all alone
Thriving triumphantly in the sunlight
Doing its best to grow
That little flower was quite an odd sight
And after doing its best
To become big and strong
At the dismay of that little flower
A weedeater came along
Petals on the sidewalk
There beneath the trees
Are all that’s left to remind us
Of a heroic little flower now blowing in the breeze
